National Institutes of Health Undergraduate Scholarship Program

Who's Eligible: 4-year college or university students "who are committed to careers in biomedical, behavioral, and social science health-related research"

Award Amount: Up to $20,000 per year

Due Date: March 14

Requirements:

Health-minded students with demonstrated financial need compete not only for scholarship dollars but also for the chance to complete a 10-week summer lab experience through the NIH and land a job with the organization after graduation. The catch is that students must have a 3.3 GPA or higher (or rank in the top 5 percent of their class), and they must commit to working full-time for the NIH one year for each year of scholarship they win.
