Interpret figurative language, including similes and metaphors, in context.

While fourth grade students were tasked with explaining the meaning of similes and metaphors by L.4.5.A, fifth graders are expected to be able to directly interpret these forms of figurative language. In addition, students should begin to develop the ability to analyze these instances of figurative language and understand their meaning based on context.
