Establish a situation and introduce a narrator and/or characters; organize an event sequence that unfolds naturally.

Everyone knows that a good story needs a foundation, and this substandard requires your students to lay that foundation for us. They need to give us the background so we can sit back and relax. Tell them to BYOP (bring your own plot).
