Scale support for all your MTSS Tiers
MTSS
MTSS is a great structure to support students holistically. The struggle is scaling support down to tier 1 students. The most effective way to reduce tier 2 & tier 3 problems is to make your MTSS program proactive rather than reactive. Heartbeat gives immediate, personalized feedback to those students, not relying on a tops down model to help them.
How Heartbeat solves and supports “MTSS” needs
Tier 1
Heartbeat adds cognitive power to your school/district scaling a personalized approach to all students. Because Heartbeat provides personalized Insights & Actions directly to students, a tops-down model requiring more educator resources isn’t required.
Tier 2
Heartbeat allows administrators, teachers, and counselors/MTSS specialists to create groups to highlight tier 2 student needs from a campus-wide view, but also down to individual student needs. This allows an individual to have impactful conversations with each student during a short meeting/hallway interaction or even provide guidance to the entire faculty based on trends that are seen in Tier 2 students.
Tier 3
Counselors/MTSS Specialists create groups for Tier 3 students and take ownership of following trends to support their current efforts to assist Tier 3 or high risk students.
Note: Heartbeat is not designed to be a Tier 3/High risk program.
How Heartbeat is implemented in your school
Heartbeat is implemented in a specific period for 5-10 minutes, 2-3 times per week so every student has the time and space to learn about their own superpowers and challenges, as well as educational preferences.
Students engage during Homeroom/Advisory Period. Students drive agency through usage.
Counselors/Teachers target and create new group for Tier 2 students based on peaks, per grade level. Teachers/Counselors use Pulse metrics for implementing small group teaching strategies.
Counselors/Teachers target and create new groups for Tier 3 students based on peaks, per grade level. Counselors meet weekly to document strategies and provide helpful tips to teachers on how to use the Pulse metrics to drive 1:1 conversations.
