Money, money, money. Horse racing is considered the sport of kings, mostly because you have to be as rich as a king to afford to keep a horse. The NCAA will help alleviate those costs, but most of it will still be on you.

First aid kit. Actually, make it two. One for you, one for your horse. Bring lots of Ace bandages.

Helmet. You want that brain of yours to be nice and safe while you coax a thousand-pound animal over a jump the size of an SUV.

Barn clothes. Did you know that non-horse people don't like their classmates smelling like barns? Weird, but true.

A horse. It would be kind of weird without one. Impressive...but weird.
