Physical Danger
Pain: the official sponsor of field hockey. You can get smacked by a stick or beaned by a ball. You can sprain your ankles and tear your ACLs. You can develop tendinitis in your hips, sustain stress fractures in your legs, and suffer chronic lower-back pain from crouching over your stick.
You can be bruised, cut, and even lacerated. You can get your teeth knocked out and your head knocked in (source). And if you play field hockey, especially at the professional level, you have probably done all this and more. Your chances of sustaining a bad injury—not life-threatening bad, but certainly life-altering, career-ending bad—are pretty high.
It's not too late to pick up collegiate-level pillow fighting, is it?
