Hey, you hit the paper. Good for you. Maybe you have potential, and with lots of hard work, you could be NCAA material. But we feel the need to point out one thing…your GPA. Hello? We think your talents lie in academics, not rifle. But hey, that doesn't mean shooting can't be a hobby.
Average shooting score: 7, GPA: 3.0
You definitely have a shot. (Ha. Get it?) But that's only because NCAA rifle isn't all that popular. If you get your scores up and reach out to a college coach, you might have a fighting chance.
Average shooting score: 10, GPA: 2.0
You've gotten in contact with a college coach and she was definitely interested…but that was before you showed her your GPA. No coach is going to want a student-athlete who will get kicked off the team because of poor academic standing. Get your grades up, and then we'll talk.
Average shooting score: 10–10.9, GPA: 3.0
You've emailed a rifle coach at one of the best rifle schools in the country and you're visiting during the summer. With a near-perfect average shooting score and a super solid GPA, you're pretty much guaranteed a spot on a college team. Yes, yes, we know you're excited. Stop pointing that thing at us.
