Famous Athletes
Lisa Leslie. Olympian, WNBA MVP, and the first woman to dunk in a WNBA game. While playing at USC, she was the all-time Pac-10 leader in points, rebounds, and blocked shots.
Brittney Griner. A two-time AP Player of the Year and the top pick in the 2013 WNBA draft. Over the course of her legendary career at Baylor University, Griner set the NCAA D-I records for career blocks (748) and dunks (18), and holds Big 12 Conference records for career points (3,283), games played (148), and triple-doubles (5).
Cheryl Miller. Reggie's sister and just as good, if not better. Check out the ESPN 30 for 30 documentary Winning Time if you're still not convinced (source). Although she once dominated at USC, you can catch her on TV these days as an NBA sportscaster.
Sheryl Swoopes. She's a three-time Olympic gold medalist, a four-time WNBA champ, and a 1993 NCAA champ at Texas Tech University. She won the Naismith National Player of the Year award in 1993 and set a record by scoring forty-seven points in the national championship game. She's currently the head women's basketball coach at Loyola University of Chicago.
Tamika Catchings. A three-time Olympic gold medalist and WNBA champ, Catchings was the first player, man or woman, to record a quintuple double in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks.
