Your mom asks you if you worked on your homework while she was at the store. Yep, you answer. Okay, so you only glanced at your vocab words and did one math problem, but technically that is working on your homework. She didn't ask if you'd completed it, now did she?
That, Shmoopers, is not the naked truth. That's kind of, sort of in the neighborhood of truth. There might be one ounce of truth in the story, but it's not the whole story. We've all used this tactic on dear old mom and dad before. It's an easy thing to do. But the thing is, if there's more to the story, it's not the truth. And that is the naked truth.
