Why Should I Care?
Have you ever been in the dark about who a person really was? Sure, your friends warned you, but you didn't believe it. You liked hanging out with that person anyway… right up until it got you in trouble.
That's what's happening to Henry VI here. His marriage isn't exactly the stuff of Pleasantville. After all, we're talking about a family that was at each other's throats for a good 30 years. The play takes domestic backstabbing, treachery, and murder to a whole new level. So it's fitting that even though this one is said about a new marriage, that it is not as rose-colored as Henry VI might want it to be.
Shmoop's advice? Next time just listen to your real friends' warnings. Otherwise you could get in some real hot water.
