Hanne isn't really the Virgil to Alan's Dante, but she does have greater knowledge of the ins and outs of KAEC than he does.

In fact, there are moments when she seems to know more about Alan's and Reliant's chances than she lets on—but that's another story. She seems to understand what Alan needs as a newcomer in such a strange land.

And yes: that includes moonshine and wild parties.
