Loyd Peregrina Timeline and Summary

Loyd drives by Codi at the supermarket in Grace and gives her the old truck wave, but she blows him off.
Loyd reintroduces himself at Emelina's party, offering to bring her a beer, but then he disappears.
Loyd reappears several days later with the beer, and he and Cody start hanging out on the reg.
Loyd offers to take Codi out to White River to see a man about the game birds. They go, and he tells her the story of how he got his awesome half-coyote dog Jack.
Eventually, Loyd starts taking Codi to all the best archeological sites and cockfights around.
Codi loves the ancient structures but hates the cockfighting. After she and Loyd have a pretty intense conversation about violence and its effects in both of their lives, Loyd decides to give up chickens cold turkey.
Loyd takes Codi out to see the Navajo and Pueblo lands, and to meet his mother Inez. They have an awesome time, but when they get back it, they find out that Hallie has been kidnapped.
After this, Codi won't talk to Loyd anymore.
Loyd gives Codi some space to deal with her grief, and when Hallie dies, he takes Codi to sign the paperwork. He's super supportive, even though he really, really wants her to stay in Grace with him.
Loyd lets Codi go, and he runs off to drive some trains. He ends up driving the train that takes Codi back into town.
Loyd and Codi are reunited, and as far as we know, they've been raising babies and pecan trees happily ever after in Grace.
