- Back at home, Alvy and Annie separate their books, arguing about who owns what. They also pat themselves on the collective back for being able to break up and stay pals.
- Cut to Alvy exiting a movie theater. He says, out loud, that he misses Annie and he made a terrible mistake.
- A random guy passing by with his wife tells Alvy that Annie's living with Tony Lacey now in California. Ouch.
- Then an equally random old lady comes up and tells Alvy not to be jealous. He is. He whips out a bar of Annie's black soap and shows it to her, right there on the street.
- She tells him to go out with other women. He tried, but it's wicked depressing.
- Cut to Alvy in the kitchen with a new woman, where lobsters are loose again. The new woman just stands in the kitchen smoking. She doesn't get it.
- Cut to Alvy standing alone by the river. He looks bummed and wanders out of frame.
- Back in his bedroom, Alvy sits on the bed, talking on the phone. Who's he talking to? Our money's on Annie. Whomever it is, Alvy wants them to come back to NYC, and he's coming to get them.
