Athena (Minerva)'s Clique: The Girls' Football Team
Sometimes Athena spends her lunchtime practicing and training with the girls' football team. These tough ladies are skilled in war, strategy, and hunting.
Valkyries (Norse)
In Norse mythology, the Valkyries are beautiful warrior women who work for Odin, the ruler of the Norse gods. They ride upon winged horses, visiting battlefields where they choose the best and bravest fallen warriors. They escort these fallen warriors to Odin's hall Valhalla, where the warriors live for eternity.
Artemis (Greek)
Artemis is Apollo's twin sister. She is the goddess of the hunt, virginity, childbirth, and young girls. Like Athena, she never married. Also like Athena, she's great with weapons, especially her bow and arrows.
Astarte (Phoenician)
Imagine what it would be like if you combined Athena and Aphrodite. You would get Astarte, the Phoenician goddess of love, sex, and war. The Greeks adopted Astarte as a goddess, giving her the name Aphrodite.
