Batman Scene 22 Summary

  • Vicki pretends to be in love with Joker to distract him.
  • Batman cuts in, saying to Joker, "You ever dance with the devil in the pale moonlight?"
  • Then he punches him off the building.
  • Joker manages to grab both Vicki and Batman by the ankles and turn the tables.
  • As Batman and Vicki dangle, Joker stomps the bricks away from under their fingertips.
  • Joker's helicopter arrives and swoops in to collect him.
  • He cracks a dumb joke and laughs at his own dumb joke, saying "Sometimes I just kill myself."
  • Famous last words.
  • The helicopter lowers a ladder and Joker grabs on.
  • But Batman uses his Batline to tether Joker's ankle to a gargoyle.
  • The heavy statue drags Joker from the ladder and he plummets to his death.
  • Trying to climb back up, both Batman and Vicki fall, but Batman uses a grappling hook to save them both.
  • On the ground, Joker is dead, a laugh box chuckling eerily even though his open eyes are void of life.
