Character Role Analysis
The World
There's no one in this story who's really stopping our heroes from achieving what they want. Well, no one accept the outside world that is. Mr. Ward's students are held back by lots of things—their family situations, their economic status, their race, the way people on the street see them, and more. None of these things change by the end of the story, but each of the kids in the novel learns that they can't let the world hold them back. Look out, world.
