• Pressia is in Ireland, resting in a hospital.
• She meets with Bartrand Kelly, who gives El Capitan a bacterium that can destroy the outer layer of the Dome.
• The next day, Newgrange is attacked by mutant creatures, and Pressia is forced to run to the airship. She almost dies, but she makes it safe and sound.
• In the airship, her and the gang are able to pick up Hastings.
• When they get back to the city, however, everything is destroyed and burned to the ground.
• She spends the next few days picking up dead bodies and throwing them into mass graves.
• But then she leaves to go infiltrate the Dome, leaving El Capitan and Bradwell behind.
• While she's trying to figure out a way into the Dome, Bradwell finds her and asks her to marry him. They marry in the woods in a very quick and awkward wedding scene.
• She's then captured by the mothers. Oh well, being a wife was fun for a few seconds.
• But the mothers actually help her get inside the Dome. Once she's in, she's escorted to Partridge's wedding.
• She flips out at Partridge for being a bad ruler, and then gets escorted to Lyda's house.
• There, she and Lyda think of a plan to get out of the Dome. With the help of Lyda's caretaker, Pressia and Lyda are lead to a planetarium to talk to Arvin Weed.
• Pressia gives Weed the formula and vial, and he promises to try to find a cure.
• On their way out, Lyda and Pressia run into Partridge; she blames him more, and then threatens to kill Iralene.
• Partridge threatens to kill Bradwell too by ordering Hastings to apprehend him, but Hastings kills Bradwell in self-defense.
• Pressia's now a widow.
• Iralene then takes everyone into her fake house, and Pressia runs outside with Lyda, her grandfather, and Beckley, and they find El Capitan, who is leading the charge to the Dome.
• The book ends with her asking for no more bloodshed.
