Jamie Beaufort-Stuart

Jamie is Julie's favorite brother and the one closest to her in age. The night before Maddie drops Julie in France and crashes her plane, he's one of the pilots based at the secret SOE airfield with them. He becomes like a big brother to both of them, and is the only familiar face Maddie gets to see in France, however fleetingly. When Maddie is finally able to escape from France, he's the pilot who picks her up and keeps his hand on her shoulder the whole way home—so in a sense, he's the way Maddie keeps a part of Julie with her after Julie's death.
