- Hank grows up learning how to make anything out of metal. He takes a job building guns and soon becomes superintendent of his factory.
- One of his employees picks a fight with him and knocks him on the head with a crowbar, and when Hank wakes up, he's under a tree in 6th century England... as one does when getting hit with a crowbar.
- Sir Kay takes him prisoner and leads him to Camelot, where he is sentenced to death. They're just jerks that way, apparently.
- He avoids execution thanks to a timely eclipse, which he passes off as his very own powerful magic.
- Hank becomes the king's prime minister, or "Boss."
- He vanquishes his rival Merlin by destroying with wizard's tower with dynamite and a lightning rod, again pretending it's magic.
- During a knightly tournament, he accidentally insults Sir Sagramor, who challenges him to a duel. But first, the knight has to hunt the Holy Grail… and since no one's ever found it, it could take a while.
- Hank undertakes a quest at the behest of the woman Sandy to save a group of maidens abducted by ogres. This is actually pretty easy, since they turn out to be pigs in a farm.
- On the way home, he visits a holy fountain that has stopped flowing, and fixes it with some useful equipment.
- He and Arthur travel incognito as peasants, and Arthur gets them into trouble with an angry mob when he can't speak convincingly about agriculture.
- They are rescued from the mob by a nobleman, who immediately makes them slaves.
- Hank escapes from the slavers and sends word to his assistant Clarence for help.
- He's recaptured and scheduled to be hanged with the other slaves, only to be rescued when Sir Launcelot and his knights show up on bicycles.
- Sir Sagramor returns and sets his duel. Hank defeats him with a lasso, then shoots him dead with a revolver.
- Three years pass, during which Hank builds infrastructure in the kingdom, marries Sandy, and has a baby girl named Hello-Central.
- His daughter grows ill and he takes her to France for her health.
- When he returns to England he finds that Arthur has been killed and he has been branded a traitor.
- Hank the Yank, Clarence, and his followers retreat to Merlin's cave, where they hold off a massive attack from 25,000 knights.
- Hank is wounded when he attempts to give aid to an injured knight.
- Merlin sneaks into the cave and puts him in an enchanted sleep. When Hank awakens, he is back in his own time, heartbroken and sad.
