Dancing on the Edge Chapter 19 Summary

  • Aunt Casey tries to explain more about going to The Cedars and talking to Dr. DeAngelis. She says the family has too many secrets and problems and they need help sorting them out, and getting help for Miracle is what will allow this to happen.
  • The next day, Miracle is being moved to a new wing of the hospital when Gigi shows up and tells her it's time to go home, plans have changed. She is pushing Miracle out of the hospital in a wheelchair when Aunt Casey catches them and demands to know what's going on.
  • Gigi tells Casey that Miracle will recover faster if she's home with Gigi, but Casey can see through it. She knows that Gigi is too afraid of Miracle learning "the truth." Since we're in Miracle's point of view, we don't really know what "the truth" is, but one thing's for sure: We wouldn't be surprised if there was more to this family than what we're seeing.
  • Aunt Casey and Gigi have a fight about how Casey is going to be able to pay for the hospital stay and for Miracle's care. Finally standing up for herself, Aunt Casey says her health insurance from her beauty salon can cover it and that Miracle deserves a chance to recover. Go Aunt Casey.
  • Gigi leaves in a huff and Dr. DeAngelis shows up to help them move Miracle.
