Character Role Analysis

Dee

It's pretty clear from everything our narrator's told us about Dee in the opening of the story that she's not the most likeable character ever. Well, let's tell it like it is: this girl sounds like a big meanie. But it's not until the quilt scene near the end of the story when we really get to see for ourselves just how jerky (i.e. self-centered, arrogant, and downright nasty) she can be. From that point on, there's no doubt that Dee is the antagonist whom we're thrilled to see the narrator kick right off her high horse.
