- That afternoon, as Frannie walks home with Samantha, the Jesus Boy runs up to her and says that he'll be at the rec center tomorrow… you know, if she happens to be there.
- She tells him to save a pinball machine and she'll see him there, which makes his smile extra wide. He runs off after telling her that he'll see her tomorrow.
- Samantha looks at Frannie and asks her if she's going on a date with the Jesus Boy. Frannie says that he's just the new kid, and that she's being nice—she remembers what it was like being the new kid at school.
- When Samantha talks again, she just laments the fact that Jesus Boy isn't actually Jesus. She's really hung up on meeting God's son in real life.
- Frannie agrees and says that she wishes that she could've met Jesus in real life, too, because she'd ask him all about Lila—her dead sister. And she'd ask if everything was going to be okay.
