• Bored with what's going on at their place (Earth), Titus and his friends head off for a fun-filled spring break on the moon.
• There, Titus meets Violet, who's this meg youch unette.
• They go to a hip hotspot called The Rumble Spot, where Titus and Violet have their feeds hacked.
• When they return back to earth, Titus starts dating Violet.
• Shortly afterwards, Titus finds out that Violet's feed can't be fixed. She's getting sick.
• Being a rebel with a cause, Violet resists the feed by faking them out on her purchasing decisions.
• Violet alternates this clever strategy with making Titus's friends feel stupid and alienating them.
• Titus and Violet go to a party, where Violet has a seizure and calls Quendy a "monster."
• Turns out Violet's super sick, and Titus realizes she doesn't have long to live.
• He really wants to break up with her, and ignores her messages and even erases a bunch of memories she sends him when her memory starts to go and she's afraid she won't be able to remember who she is.
• Titus reluctantly agrees to go with Violet to a hotel in the mountains for a weekend getaway, because a dying chick is definitely not who you want to take on your mini-holiday.
• When they get there, Violet makes it perfectly clear she wants to have sex, but Titus gets all Warm Bodies and says that touching Violet is like touching a zombie.
• After a horrible argument, Titus breaks up with her.
• Several months go by, and Titus is dating Quendy now.
• Out of the blue, he gets a message from Violet's dad: "It's over."
• Titus and Violet's dad get into a huge fight about what a jerk Titus was to her, and we must say we're on Dad's side, here.
• At the end, Titus sits by Violet's brain-dead bedside. He tells her stories of her life and shares fragments of current events. For a girl like Violet, that's sweet talk—and it's how we know that Titus has done some serious Growing Up.
