If you had a bit of trouble finding the antagonist in this book, then we're with you. At first there doesn't seem to be a super bad guy or gal, but over time we learn some tidbits about Bryce's dad that definitely put him into the jerk category. Like the fact that he judges the Bakers for having a messy yard. Or how he's super biased against Juli's disabled uncle. Eventually even Bryce realizes that his dad isn't the greatest guy around. Sorry, buddy.
