Robert Jordan

Yeah, so, big surprise, Robert Jordan's the protagonist. He's the central character, the fella who falls into a new world (check out the "Booker's Seven Basic Plots Analysis"), the foreigner through whose eyes we see most of the action and the other characters, and the guy with the personal narrative who evolves into a hero. He's the man with the mission, who sets off the plot and entangles all the other characters in the fateful attempt to blow up the bridge.
