How we cite our quotes: All quotations are from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1.
Quote #1
BURBAGE: Severus…Severus, please. We're friends.
Well, if Snape is only pretending to be evil, he's doing a pretty good job. In this scene, Voldemort and his Death Eaters are holding Charity Burbage, a professor at Hogwarts, prisoner because of her Muggle-loving ways. Voldemort is about to kill her, and Charity pleads with her "friend" Snape to help her…and he refuses. Yikes.
Quote #2
RON: I just thought, after all this time, we would've actually achieved something. I thought you knew what you were doing. I thought Dumbledore would have told you something worthwhile. I thought you had a plan.
HARRY: I told you everything Dumbledore told me! And in case you haven't noticed, we have found a Horcrux already.
RON: Yeah, and we're about as close to getting rid of it as we are to finding the rest of them, aren't we?
HERMIONE: Ron. Please take—please take the Horcrux off. You wouldn't be saying any of this if you hadn't been wearing it all day.
So, Harry, Hermione, and Ron's friendship undergoes some massive tests during the course of the movie. Unfortunately, they have to wear around Voldemort's Horcrux in order to protect it, and it puts whoever's wearing it in a perfectly foul mood. And aside from that, Ron is pretty frustrated with their progress (or lack thereof) in destroying that Horcrux and finding other ones. So, all that basically blows up right here in this moment.
Quote #3
HARRY: Fine, then go! Go, then!
HERMIONE: Ron.
RON: And you? Are you coming or you staying? Fine. I get it. I saw you two the other night.
HERMIONE: Ron, that's…that's nothing. Ron…Ron, where are you going? Please, come back. Ron. Ron!
See? We told you things were blowing up. In that same conversation in which Ron basically rags on Harry for being an orphan, he decides he's leaving—and when Hermione refuses to go with him, he's convinced that his nasty suspicions about her and Harry have been confirmed. As if.
