Um, yes, what is up with the ending?

We're hoping this was some kind of trick? They didn't actually just kill off Harry's mentor and one of the most important (not to mention beloved) characters in the entire series, did they?

Really?

Well, er, it appears they really did.

Snape nailed Dumbledore with a Killing Curse, which then caused him to fall backwards and off the tower. We're not sure why, (Snape, man, we thought you were loyal) or what's going to happen next (how is Harry going to find all the Horcruxes without Dumbledore's help?), but our dear old Dumby is definitely gone. Sniff.

At the very least, it looks like Harry will have Ron and Hermione's help in trying to finish the Horcrux mission, which will be key to finishing off Voldemort himself. But it's not going to be easy. It never is for these kids.

And it looks like Harry and friends will not be coming back to Hogwarts next year, for the first time since the series began. What will that look like, we wonder?
