Ron and Hermione

We were tempted to list Ron and Hermione as protagonists too, but in our heart or hearts, we know that they're the sidekicks to Harry's story. As Ron says, "It's you who has to go on, I know it. Not me, not Hermione, you."

That being said, they still get their share of moments, such as Hermione saving the other two from the Devil's Snares. It's clear that Harry wouldn't get very far without them, and he's more than happy to share the podium with them at the end.

Good friends are what you need on quests like this, and these two rank among the very best. They're sidekicks in fact, but they're heroes in spirit…which is what makes all great sidekicks so wonderfully, fantastically great.
