The Reset Button
- All hostilities both by sea and land" (I.2) are to be ended as of the ratification of the Treaty of Ghent. This Article is the final buzzer of the War of 1812.
- Every piece of territory, land, and property taken in the war is to be returned to the original country that controlled it in 1812.
- Any private and public property in "archives, records, deeds, and papers" (I.3) that was captured during the war is to be returned to its owners, "as far as may be practicable" (I.3).
- Whoever controls a particular island at the time of the Treaty's ratification gets to keep it until Article Four kicks in.
