PG

Inside Out earns its PG rating mainly for heavy ideas that may go over kids' heads, like the bittersweet nature of nostalgia and the loss of childhood. Riley's stress dream gets intense, as well; a dog is cut in half, for instance, and her teeth fall out. Bing Bong's implied death is pretty brutal on the tear ducts, too.

In short, there's no violence, no gore, no unpleasant four-letter words, just some big concepts (and a big, creepy dream clown) that might benefit from further discussion.
