If you've got a revolutionary streak to you, then you'll love the fact that the antagonist in Legend is the whole government structure. The Republic of America is definitely not working for its citizens in this story. In fact, it's pretty much screwing over its citizens without a care in the world. Kids are being experimented on and killed, slums are pretty much left to fester, and you aren't even guaranteed a high school education.

While at first it might seem like things are working out for June with the Republic, as the plot unfurls we realize that being on the Republic's good side comes at its own costs.
