Metias

Even though he dies pretty early on, Metias is June's guiding light—the wise older brother who was always there for her, who always told her what was good and right. In death he guides June in the right direction so that she'll understand that to be a good person, you sometimes have to fight against the system. He leaves June clues in his diaries that lead her to his blog, where she learns that he found out about all the bad things that the Republic is up to. He even tells her that if she's going to rebel against the system, she has to do so from the inside. Metias truly sets June on a path to find the truth.
