Character Analysis
Miriam is the youngest child in Mariah's and Lewis's brood of kids.
Miriam holds a special place in Lucy's heart because she reminds Lucy of, well, Lucy:
She must have reminded me of myself when I was that age, for I treated her the way I remembered my mother treating me then [. . .] I couldn't explain it. I loved this little girl. (3.10)
It's not really like Lucy to get all mushy like this, so Miriam does a lot to bring out this warmer side of our cool-as-a-cucumber protagonist.
