Ray Calvin doesn't actually show up in the book, but he's the guy who buys W-M's fake antiques and sells them to antique dealers who don't know any better, like Childan.
More interesting is Rita, who is a woman W-M is trying to seduce, but who is more interested in history. Rita is the first person who mentions The Grasshopper Lies Heavy and she has some definite ideas about how history went wrong (5.56)—which is a sneaky way to get that information to us.
