Matched is about as straightforward a title as they get. The story begins with Cassia's Matching ceremony, where she's computer-matched via some complicated algorithm with her optimal genetic match—to produce physically and emotionally healthy children, of course.
All's well and good until the microchip with information about her Match shows a different face—and so sets Cassia down a path where she begins to question everything she's ever believed. The question of whether one should be Matched or have a choice is the central one of this book—and the title leaves no room for confusion about this.
