Peace Out, Maggie
- Montage time.
- While Scrap's voice-over details the hard work it takes to make someone a fighter, we see Maggie working her tail off. Speed bag, heavy bag, jump rope, crunches.
- She works on her footwork at her job waiting tables; she works on her footwork while she's wrapping money in a letter at her kitchen table. Frankie helps her the whole time, sometimes even moving her feet around the ring on his hands and knees, and by the end of it all, we can see a definite improvement in her skills. She's also in incredible shape. It's unclear how much time has passed, but one thing's for certain: Maggie's ripped.
- Maggie wants to know if Frankie thinks she's ready for a fight. She gets no response.
- Cut to Maggie sparring in the ring. Frankie tells her stop holding her breath when she's under pressure.
- Maggie says, Cool. Got it. Think I'm ready for a fight now? Scrap pretends to clean the turnbuckle while he eavesdrops.
- Maggie asks Frankie if he has any family. Scrap shoots her a look as if to say, "Oh, girl. No you didn't!"
- Frankie says no, and then recants. He has a daughter named Katy. He hasn't talked to her in a long, long time.
- Then Frankie abruptly calls over Sally, a manager hanging out nearby, and foists Maggie off onto him.
- Scrap tries to intervene, claiming that he needs to talk to Frankie for a minute, but Frankie ignores him. "Nice working with you, girlie," Frankie tells Maggie. Then he skedaddles, leaving Maggie all like, "What just happened?"
- She agrees to work with Sally though, and Sally thinks she's ready for a fight.
