For Summer, home is all about who's there, not the actual structure in place. That's why she feels most at home in the trailer with Uncle Ob and Aunt May, even though it might not be as nice as the houses she stayed in previously.
By traveling away from Deep Water to the capitol, Summer and Uncle Ob are able to better appreciate their home when they return.
