Character Analysis
Father Keeley is an unfrocked priest who was kicked out of the Catholic Church for some great reasons.
He was a drunk. He had, before the Second World War, been chaplain of a Detroit gun club which, as later came out, had been organized by agents of Nazi Germany. The dream of the club, apparently, was to shoot the Jews. (14.15)
Well, then.
Dude's not exactly the kind of priest you'd want to go to if you wanted your sins absolved, since he's probably way more sinful than you are. Nevertheless, his shady business snagged him a spot as one of Jones's henchmen, so that's a messed up sort of plus, we guess.
