Case description: Plaintiff (Neith) demanded restitution from Defendant (Isis) for patent infringement. The goddess accused Isis of appropriating a particular cloth veil. The Greek Historian Herodotus was called as a witness to discuss his commentary that Neith's statue in her temple at Sais had an inscription that said "no man has lifted my veil," and that Neith's image was paraded around town after dark, covered in a dark cloth.
Case status: The court noted that many images of a "veiled Isis" do exist, but that they are all almost entirely modern and European or American in origin. The case was dismissed as the statute of limitations on Neith's original patent has surely run out, and the moderns don't know the difference anyway.
