Lawrence Hauben and Bo Goldman

The first thing you should know about One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is that it's based on a famous novel of the same title by Ken Kesey. Rumor has it, Ken Kesey was actually involved with penning the movie's script in its early stages, but abandoned the effort because of creative differences. And apparently things didn't improve from there, as it's widely known he was not a fan of the finished product. Too bad every movie buff ever disagrees with him.

The main screenwriter on One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest was a fella named Lawrence Hauben. Despite winning an Academy Award for Best Screenplay for One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, he never really went on to do much else with his writing. Though he was an actor until his death in 1985, like the Fantasy Films Production Company, Lawrence Hauben's mainstream success didn't really go beyond One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

The movie's secondary screenwriter, Bo Goldman, is a much bigger deal in film history. On top of his work on One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, he is also responsible for writing the famous Scent of a Woman and Meet Joe Black. How's that for an artistic combo?
