Character Role Analysis

Othello

Othello is the tragic protagonist of the story. The play revolves around his corruption by Iago and his descent into a dangerous jealousy. What's interesting is that we spend more time with the villain than the protagonist, which is one of the more unique qualities of Othello.

But even though he spends a bit of time off-stage, the plot is still centered on Othello, and (more important) his destruction.
