Miri

She may be small for her age—maybe even too small to work in the quarries—but that doesn't mean that Miri is a weak character. Instead she's the driving force of the story, and as readers, we follow her as she goes from the village to the princess academy in the hopes of excelling and finding a better life for herself and her family.

Miri is fiercely loyal, and doesn't shy away from confrontation; in fact she always stands up for what she believes in, even when she's facing some pretty scary bandits. In the end, Miri proves to everyone that she's a force to be reckoned with, which is great because we've been rooting for her all along.
