The Creator

In a lot of ways, we hardly get to know the Creator (a.k.a. God with a capital g) since he never makes an appearance. Plus, he's only vaguely talked about since Kiriel doesn't know him directly. So what makes him our antagonist? The fact that he stands in the way of what our protagonist wants. Sure, it's an unusual choice since the Boss (a.k.a. the Devil) is more often the antagonist figure in literature, but here we have a switcheroo since the Creator's rules and system are what create Kiriel's dissatisfaction in the first place.
