Vincent and Winston

Waverly's brothers Vincent and Winston kind of act like a Greek chorus in this story. They play a small part in the drama by introducing Waverly to chess (13), but otherwise don't play any part in the action. Instead they point out unjust actions (47) and comment on incidents that don't affect them (64). They offer commentary and information without ever really getting into the fray themselves. With a mom like theirs, we can't say we blame them.
