Protagonist
Character Role Analysis
Waverly Place Jong
Waverly is the narrator and the central character in the story. We see everything from her perspective, following her trials and tribulations as child chess genius and mommy doormat. Waverly's a little girl in the real world, so her journey is more of a spiritual or emotional one rather than one that covers physical distance or takes a physical toll. Nevertheless, she's the one we care about the most, and her first-person narration puts us squarely in her corner. In the end, no matter how much her mom might meddle, this is Waverly's story.
