A World of Steam and Humans
- And they're off. The Upstairs Cranstons and their mice are heading to London. Helena and her sisters are hiding in Camilla's trunk inside the handkerchief drawer, while Lamont is in the gloves drawer.
- It's a bumpy ride for the mice, as the trunks travel on wagons, but finally they end up on the ship. And the mice are as scared as can be.
- Their fears don't go away while they're hiding out in the trunk in Camilla's room on the ship. Louise makes sure that Camilla's handkerchief is ready so she won't discover them in the drawer, and when Camilla pulls out a glove with Lamont in it, he's able to get away unseen. Looks like life on this ship isn't going to be easy for the Cranston mice.
- Finally the mice are alone and can get out of the trunk. But then they meet a visitor with a weird accent—a fellow named Nigel, who is a handsome mouse from England. He's the cabin steward and a nice chap.
- Once they all meet each other, Nigel learns that their two older sisters, Vicky and Alice, and their mother have passed away. Nigel warns Helena and her siblings about the ship's cat. On the plus side though, Beatrice already has a huge crush on Nigel—he's just the dreamiest (that's Nigel, folks, not Niall).
- Nigel takes the Cranston mice into dinner—where they are completely surprised to see one hundred and fifty mice seated at tables, ready for some grub.
