How It All Goes Down
- The workers talk about the fact that Jacob's body hasn't shown up yet. Some of them think he might still be alive, but others are certain the river will wash him ashore on of these days.
- Word on the street is that Galloway is heading to Kingsport to hunt the old sheriff's family down. Once he figured out where they were, he booked a train.
- Most of the workers know they work for a corrupt guy, but they need jobs so they stay silent.
- Meanwhile, Serena and Pemberton talk business. Since the park is ready to be built, everyone is pushing the Pembertons to sell their land.
- Serena thinks they should. They only didn't before because they weren't done harvesting trees, but now that they have all the timber they can get she thinks they should throw in the towel.
- If they sell now, they can leverage that cash to buy so much more in Brazil.
- She already has investors signed on. The best part? They won't have to deal with them all the time.
- Sure they'll get a check from the investors, but they'll be a whole continent away so Pemberton and Serena won't need to worry about being double-crossed like they have been before.
- She gets ready for bed and asks Pemberton to join her.
- He knows that she wants him to come to her but he isn't interested.
- When he finally comes to bed, she begins to touch him and then asks what's wrong. He seems distracted.
