This is a heroic analyst story, and Constance is the heroic analyst. She figures out that "Edwardes" isn't who he says he is, she figures out that "Edwardes" doesn't know who he is, she gets him his memory back, and then she gets him out of jail… and marries him.

Pretty good for an old stick-in-the-mud with no "human and emotional experience."
