Ty

The antagonist is the character who's bent on keeping the protagonist from getting what she wants, and in this case, Ty will stop at nothing to make sure Gemma never leaves his property in the desert—from putting up fences around the Separates to finally letting her run away on her own so she can realize just how helpless she is. Most of the book is composed of a battle of iron wills—Gemma's desire to leave and Ty's determination to get her to stay.
