In The Color of Magic, the Discworld comes with various kinds of power to tinker with. You can go the barbarian route and be a powerhouse of brawn but lack a bit in the brains. You can be a wizard and spend years learning a super powerful spell, making you the bell of the power ball until you use it and then immediately lose it. You can always be old fashioned and derive your power from wealth, or you can try the Rincewind route and live a life completely devoid of any kind of power, save for an extraordinary amount of luck.
